Business buys Woolcock St premises

FortisEM settled in at new address

FortisEM is operating from new, larger Townsville premises in 2019.

FortisEM director and principal engineer Bill Hutton said the firm had purchased the new office with the intention of reinvesting in the local community, showing its confidence in the Townsville economy.

The business was previously leasing premises at 48 Gregory St, North Ward.

The shift to Woolcock St, Currajong offers a more effective workspace, room for growth and a central location.

FortisEM structural engineer Adam McGinty said the new site featured an open-plan collaborative workspace, which made it easier for FortisEM employees to work together to deliver better outcomes for clients.

Plenty of free parking should also help keep clients happy, and for staff there is a fitness area at the rear of the premises.

Mr McGinty said the FortisEM premises at Unit 4, 264-278 Woolcock St also offered a designated boardroom for meetings.

The move has co-incided with the addition of some new equipment for the business.

Mr McGinty said FortisEM now had Dynamic Cone Penetration (DCP) testing equipment to measure soil conditions.
