Townsville to host engineering forum

The Engineers Australia 2017 Northern Regional Forum will be held at Rydges Southbank in Townsville on Thursday,  August 24.

The forum has been given the theme Regional Sustainability and Resilience to focus on the importance of environmental sustainability and environmental resilience in the planning and development of cities and towns.

This will include discussion about northern Queensland’s resilience during Cyclone Debbie as well as case studies concerning new technologies which will contribute to environmental resilience.

Additional activities will also be offered to participants, including a networking dinner on the night of the official forum date.

Friday, August 25 will feature a tour of the James Cook University Cyclone Testing Centre, the pre-eminent independent authority on the performance of buildings in severe wind events.
