Townsville City Council will host an industry information session on the $215 million Haughton Pipeline Duplication project on Tuesday, March 20.

The information session is intended to bring together contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to provide details on the project and how local firms can secure work.

Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the council wanted as many local firms as possible to be part of the project.

“The pipeline will need everything from gravel to site offices to heavy machinery and portaloos,” she said.

“There’s plenty of work available on the pipeline and we want to create as many jobs as possible so that’s why we want businesses to come to the forum on Tuesday to find out how they can be a part of the project.”

The information session will be held at Reid Park. Doors open at 8.45am for a 9am start. The event is expected to conclude at 10.30am.

  • Registrations are essential. To express interest in attending RSVP to [email protected] with the subject title “HPDP – Local Industry Information Session” and please provide details about your company and who will be attending. RSVPs close 3pm, Monday, March 19.
