RCR Tomlinson makes hay while sun shines

RCR Tomlinson has won another clutch of major solar project work, including two more Queensland contracts.

The company announced today that it had been selected as the preferred EPC contractor for two major contracts, totalling about $260 million, for the Clermont Solar Farm in Queensland and the Wemen Solar Farm in Victoria being developed by Wirsol Energy.

Subject to final contracts, RCR’s scope of work will include engineering, procurement, construction and
commissioning of the solar farms. Once commissioned, RCR will provide operations and maintenance services for an initial period of two years, with various option terms for up to a further 13 years.

RCR Tomlinson announced on Friday that it had been awarded a contract to commence work under a Limited Notice to Proceed for the $170 million 100MWac Haughton Solar Farm, being developed south of Townsville by Pacific Hydro Australia.

The LNTP provides for development of essential site works, engineering and design, and the procurement of
critical and long-lead items.

The project is subject to final investment decision by Pacific Hydro and other approvals. Stage 1 is expected to commence in March 2018, with commissioning expected to complete in January 2019.
