Red River Resources has reported a record quarter at its Thalanga operations in North Queensland, with 96,000 tonnes of ore mined at West 45.

It achieved a quarterly concentrate production record of 7695 tonnes of zinc concentrate, 3007 tonnes of lead concentrate and 725 tonnes of copper concentrate in the December quarter.

“It’s great to see the site team continue to improve production from both the mine and the processing plant,” managing director Mel Palancian said.

“We are looking forward to continued improvements in the March quarter.”

It comes as the company moves closer to bringing its Far West deposit online to add to the ore produced at Thalanga.

In a market update last month, Red River Resources said the Far West decline had advance to 90m vertical depth, with ore production scheduled to commence in the first quarter in 2019.

Far West has a JORC reserve of 1.5 million tonnes at 12 per cent zinc and an expected mine life to 2025.

Red River Resources commenced copper, lead and zinc concentrate production at the Thalanga operation, south-west of Charters Towers, in September 2017.
