Major engineering contractor collapse

Administrators called in at RCR Tomlinson

Engineering company RCR Tomlinson has gone into administration.

McGrathNicol Restructuring announced today that voluntary administrators had been appointed for the firm, which is involved in a raft of Queensland solar farm construction projects.

It said the administrators were undertaking an assessment of the business and urgently seeking funding from the RCR Group’s financiers.

“The administrators will work closely with RCR’s employees, suppliers and customers to quickly stabilise operations and to determine the appropriate strategy for the business. A sale process will be commenced immediately,” McGrathNicol Restructuring said in a statement to the ASX.

“RCR suppliers are asked to ensure that they supply only in accordance with the circular to suppliers, available on the McGrathNicol and RCR websites.”

A first creditors meeting will be held on December 3.

The contractor recently wrote down $57 million from its Daydream and Hayman solar farms contract in Central Queensland. It is involved in the Haughton, Emerald, Collinsville, Clermont and Darling Downs solar farm projects in regional Queensland.
